The long road to the big screen for Marvel’s Ant-Man took one major step closer to completion last night with the release of the first full length trailer. After Edgar Wright spent 8 (!) years developing the script and casting the film, creative differences lead to his abrupt departure shortly before shooting began. Peyton Reed took on the unenviable task of replacing the fanboy favorite Wright and now we see the fruits of his labors.
Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
Ant-Man starring Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña and Judy Greer hits theaters July 17, 2015.
