Registering for wedding gifts is one of the best parts about getting married. Not so much because you really want/need fancy china or grown-up drinking glasses, but because you get to zap things with a little infrared laser device. When I got married, we got small appliances and towels and kitchen stuff that I didn’t know what to do with, but we also got geeky gifts like the entire Buffy the Vampire Slayer series, the Akira Kurosawa collection, and the Oxford English Dictionary. (Obviously from our cooler friends.) Here are ten hand-picked gifts that merge things a newlywed couple needs with things they want.
Planetary Glass Set
These are for when your parents come over for dinner. The rest of the time you can use your old cartoon tumblers. Plus, they threw in Pluto as a bonus.
Nightmare Before Christmas Zero Teapot
If you are planning on formal tea, add a little whimsy with this Nightmare Before Christmas teapot. It is adorable… and the tea comes out of Zero’s nose.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizza Cutter
It’s just so perfect.
Molecular Cuisine Beginners Set
Just because you are having a dinner party doesn’t mean you can’t also play mad scientist.
Test Tube Spice Rack
Speaking of playing mad scientist…
Domo is part of a well-balanced breakfast.
R2D2 Measuring Cup Set
They say baking is a science, so why not let a robot handle the measuring?
Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine Salt & Pepper Shakers
For salt and pepper. Absolutely, positively nothing else.
Nintendo Bedding Set
Nothing more romantic than blowing on some cartridges with your new spouse.
The Art of Eating Through the Zombie Apocalypse
You know it’s coming. May as well get used to scraping together a meal out of scavenged berries and dubious canned food.
